Today is the World day of a Sea

The sea always caused genuine interest in all mankind throughout long centuries. Three quarters of the largest cities in the world are at coast of the seas and oceans. Almost 3,5 billion persons receive the basic source of food from oceans. At all times people composed various legends, myths and histories about the seas and storming waves. Poets and novelists sang and displayed the seas in bright paints in the creativity.

The poster «Where water, there and a life» was published.

Today questions of preservation of the environment draw to themselves attention not only in our country, but also all over the world. The special attention is given to protection of water resources - the world community is anxious by a long-term drought in Africa, China and other states. In these states because of deficiency of water agricultural crops perish, pets, extend various diseases. The United Nations Organization renders to these countries the gratuitous humanitarian .
In Republic of Uzbekistan for years of Independence was accepted a number of the Laws directed on preservation of the environment, including on water protection - the Republic of Uzbekistan Law «About water and water use». The state committee of Republic of Uzbekistan on Nature Protection conducts the rigid control over observance of nature protection Laws not only the enterprises, the organizations and establishments, but also citizens of the country. However it is not enough to supervise, it is necessary, that in actions of heads of a various link were considered a questions of preservation of the environment and especially questions of protection and rational use of water resources, pure potable water.

Actual Problems of Water Sustainability

Saving Water in the Fields of Uzbekistan

  Water is one of the valuable and limited resources in the world. Today everyone is thinking over how to use this resource efficiently with its less consumption, especially for agricultural needs.
    So far, as information service of the site  http://energy.econews.uz/ reports the Uzbek Research Institute of Cotton-growing (URICG) has developed the resource-saving technology of irrigation of cotton-plant and other cultures. Water - the Source of Life

The Aral Sea Region is in the Focus of the Attention

The ecological crisis has entailed a great drop in the living standard in the Aral Sea Region including worsening of human health, loss of biological diversity, social and economic recession and etc. The Aral Sea disaster cannot be considered only as the national or regional problem. Its negative consequences accelerate the process of the climatic changes in Central Asia region and, as a result, in the whole world.
Since early 1990s, the International donor community has been rendering financial and economic support to the countries of region to liquidate the Aral Sea disaster and restore the Aral Sea. During 1995- 2005, the total volume of donor assistance made up USD 825 million (‘Review of Donor Assistance in the Aral Sea Region (1995 - 2005)’, UNDP, IFSAS, 2008).
