Energetics for sustainable development

Registration is now open for the Third International Forum “Energetics for sustainable development”. The forum will take place by Issyk Kul lake in Kyrgyzstan, from 12 to 14 of September. The forum’s goal is to increase potential for access to efficient energy use and renewable energy in Central Asia and nearby regions.

Forum’s sponsor is Government of Kyrgyz Republic with support of United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). This forum is a continuation of International forums for efficient energy use that were held in Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.


Geographical directivity of this Forum is Central Asia and nearby regions. However a lot of countries from other regions are expected to participate. Forum includes high level segments on the level of ministers, agencies and governments, dealing with the problems of energetics, infrastructure, housing/constructions and environmental protection.
Signing of the Minister’s Declaration of cooperation in the sphere of efficient energy use and sustainable development is expected as the result of Forum.

The problems that will be discussed at Forum are:
-    Sustainable energy in Central Asia and nearby regions: current situation, barriers and possibilities. Political reforms and role of the Government and the public sector in creation of advantageous terms for promotion of sustainable energy.
-    Efficient energy use in houses: problems, achievements and possibilities.
-    Investment in efficient energy use and sustainable energy: ways of funding the projects.
-    Role of the private sector in promotion of the sustainable energy and efficient energy use in Central Asia and nearby regions.

Forum’s format is a combination of seminars, plenary sessions and conferences. Main speeches will be done by representatives of Government and United Nations, specialists in efficient energy use, representatives of international financial institutions, commercial banks and investment companies.
An access to participation in Forum is opened for relevant experts and specialists, financial institutions, international organizations and others interested in problems of sustainable energy.  {jcomments on}
